Nick LiVecchi CFP®, CRPC®, CPFA®
Nick LiVecchi is the founder and president of The Sovran. He has been a financial planner since 2011 with Merrill Lynch where he trained and worked for over 10 years. Nick created The Sovran out of a pure desire to offer his clients a truly advantageous platform that represented their wants and needs as learned through their feedback over the years. Nick’s goal was also to create a conflict free financial planning practice dedicated to the standards of the Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®) board. A graduate of Rutgers University, Cook College, BS 2002. Nick received his CFP® certification from The Duke University Executive Education program and is also a holder of the Chartered Retirement Planning CounselorSM (CRPC®) and Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor (CPFA®) designations. Nick has been in the service business his entire working life and knows that doing the right thing and having good values go a long way. Nick learned to invest from his father who was a landlord and business owner. For over 60 years his family owned and operated a multi-location dry-cleaning business before his father, Louis Robert LiVecchi, passed after a long battle with cancer. Nick was only 19 when he passed. Although his father had years of experience with running a business, did not have a plan for the worse case scenario and as his condition worsened, business declined and was eventually sold for far less than its value. Although he studied to become an Environmental Engineer in college, it was this experience became the primary driver for Nicks interest in becoming a financial planner. By getting an in depth understanding of a client’s goals and values and implementing time tested wealth planning strategies, he believes that he can proactively help prepare a family for success as well as the unfortunate setbacks that dramatically affected his own family.
Nick started working and learning about investments young. In fact, he himself owned 8 investment properties and 2 businesses (in real estate and renovations) before the age of 25. Nick started his third company called “Think Outside the Stocks” at 27 years old where he created a 105-page manual and trained hundreds of investors in seminars on how to invest retirement dollars into real estate investments. A few years later he adapted his talent in advising investors in real estate into the Wealth Management industry with Merrill Lynch. Nick is a high-energy individual with a passion for tackling complex business and personal wealth management goals. He has a natural affinity towards helping people and looks for ways to add value to his relationships. Today Nick Lives in Raleigh with his Wife Meri, sons Niko 3.5 and Luka 2 years old. When they all have a spare minute, they enjoy family time, traveling abroad and hosting get togethers.
